The towboat norwich during the 1909 hudson-fulton celebrations. Originally built as a passenger steamer running between norwich, connecticut, and new york, norwich was later converted into a hudson river towboat and was reportedly the world's oldest active steamboat by 1909, powered by the only surviving example of an american crosshead engine.
