"battle of engravers," etching, by the british artist george cruikshank. 215 mm x 295 mm. The etching was an illustration to thomas wilson's "a catalogue raisonné of the select collection of engravers of an amateur. " (plate 44). The print shows a mêlée, with three pairs of contestants squared off against each other. These include the well-known engravers: william hogarth; antoine masson; william woollett; j. J.
