"Portrait of Elizabeth Charlotte, daughter of Prince Charles Louis, Elector Palatine and wife of Philip Duc d'Orléans, as Minerva", Johann Hulsman, between 1650 and 1700
So-called portrait of elizabeth charlotte of the palatinate, duchess of orléans (1652-1722), sister-in-law of louis xiv of france, but it’s probably a depiction of louise de la vallière (1644-1710), mistress of that king. Identification proposed by user ecummenic (talk) based on the comparison with some portraits of louise de la vallière (see images below) and the lack of physical resemblance of the sitter of this portrait to other representations of princess palatine. Object Type: painting. Date: between 1650 and 1700. Dimensions: height: 95.5 cm (37.5 in); width: 71.5 cm (28.1 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Unidentified location.
