“dear friend, you will find enclosed my salary vouchers for this month and july. They represent hundred and eighty liras, half of which will be paid at the end of june and the other half in july to the directorate of mines. I am in great need of cash because of my daughter’s wedding. Setting up the home, preparing the trousseau and gifts, etc. Have drained me out and it is not over yet. Therefore, i would like an advance of a hundred and fifty liras insured by my two months’ salary. Who else can i turn to? if possible, dear friend, i would be grateful if you could arrange for this modest sum to be paid to me. I would have visited you personally, but as the small ceremony will be held next sunday, i don’t even have a minute to myself. Trusting your help i shake your hands with affection. ”

Yerleşme, çeyiz, hediyeler vs. Beni kuruttu ve bu kadarla da bitmeyecektir. Dolayısıyla iki aylık maaşım üzerinden 150 liralık bir avans almak isterim. Sizden başka kime müracaat edebilirim ki! mümkünse, sevgili dostum, bu küçük meblağı bana avans olarak açtırın, size minnettar kalırım.
