Marly horse Louvre MR1803 n2, Guillaume Coustou the Elder, between 1739 and 1745
One of the so-called marly horses. Commissioned in 1739 for the park of the castle of marly, the two sculptures were transferred in 1794 to the entrance to the champs-élysées in paris and replaced by cement copies in 1985. Date: between 1739 and 1745. Dimensions: height: 340 cm (11.1 ft); depth: 127 cm (50 in). Medium: marble. Collection: Louvre Museum.
