Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1942-02-27) letter no. 66 (1942-02-29) next letter (1942-03-07) envelope: front back text [yes, now people in vienna] will notice more of the war! the winter at home this year is said to have been very hard. The thaw has long since begun here, but there is still snow everywhere. Please don’t send me any more stomach drops if papa needs them. I have enough of those here too! and now, dear mama, i have come to the most important thing! thank you for writing to me to tell me how things are with papa. You can imagine that i’m not all there. I want to pray with all my heart and hope that he gets better and healthy again very soon! he should try really hard to eat and believe in his recovery. I know from my own experience that that doesn’t help much with a serious illness. I send him greetings from the bottom of my heart. And you, dear mum, must be especially strong and brave now! please think of me too and don't get too upset so that you can stay healthy [and look after dad properly!]. Date: 1 March 1942.
