Codex escurialensis, sketchbook from the workshop of domenico ghirlandaio, before 1509. [1] – decorative detail from the ceiling of camera 24 of nero's domus aurea. Two seated, chained satyrs on either side of a trophy with armor, winged helmet and gorgon's head, and various weapons on the arms. Below, a picture field with a stylized trophy, surrounded by a woman with a young horse, a woman with a child and a warrior with a sword and shield. Date: 1509.
