The work represents a fair scene on a sunny summer day. In the center left of the image, in the scene in the foreground, which demands attention within the composition, highlighted chromatically and through clearer details, a man and a woman, merchants, are sitting in the shade of an improvised tent on two tall poles. The two characters sitting, waiting for customers, are rendered as silhouettes, with their heads slightly bowed, without interest in the description of their physiognomy. The man wears a black hat, like the rest of his clothing. Behind the barrels and baskets with goods, the woman, shown only bust, wears a yellowish-ochre scarf, a white shirt and a black breastplate. In the center-right of the foreground, under the improvised canopy, bales of goods are piled up. To open the perspective to the scene in the background of the last shot, the middle shot is populated only center to the left, with the fugitive silhouette of a man in a city suit, with a tall, black hat. On the extreme left, only sketched, appear a lady with an umbrella and a horseman. In front of the tents, seven tall masts appear, on which tricolor flags are hoisted, tied together with colorful ornamental garlands. These masts mark strong verticals that balance the horizontality of the mass of people in the background. The characters are very vaguely individualized, like silhouettes, in tones and accents of light browns, grays, blues and yellows. The sky in the background, above the tents, rendered in light shades of blue, is mostly covered by clouds as if scattered by the wind, rendered in colored whites. The work is signed lower left, in diluted brown: "s. Henţia 1900" and further, also noted by the author, in pencil: "moşi". County directorate for culture - cluj. Date: 1900.
