Description: lucius, the main character from apuleius' novel 'metamorphoses', has been turned into a donkey and hears an old woman telling the story of amor and psyche to a young woman. In front of the opening of a cave, the old woman with distaff and dog are sitting on the left and the young woman on the right. Italian text in two cartouches in the bottom margin. Numbered twice at the bottom left: 1. Manufacture. Manufacturer: printmaker: meester van de dice, after a design by: michiel coxie (i), publisher: antonio salamanca (mentioned on object).
