Portrait of the 28-year-old fugger trade representative wolfgang ronner (ca. 1501-1558) from kaufbeuren. Under the black cap he wears a red doublet, the slits of which are lined with black fabric, and a white pleated shirt with a stand-up collar. His headgear is a red beret, which is framed by a two-tone border. The depicted person is identified by the address on the folded letter that he is holding in his left hand. Next to the trident-like fugger trademark is the inscription: "ronner / zw hannd(en) / swats". The ronner family coat of arms can be seen on the ring on the index finger of his left hand. It shows a white lily on a crescent moon that is open at the top in black. The panel also has a sliding cover of the same size (bavarian state painting collections, inv. No. 547b), which also bears the ronner coat of arms in addition to the year 1529. It was once pushed into the original frame, which is no longer preserved, and thus protected the picture. Object Type: painting. Genre: portrait. Date: 1529. Dimensions: height: 48.5 cm (19 in) ; width: 39.7 cm (15.6 in). Medium: oil and softwood. Collection: Alte Pinakothek. Wolfgang-Ronner,-Hans-Maler
