The art teacher from hanover, johann heinrich wilhelm kretschmer, and daughter marie kretschmer, photographed by karl f(riedrich) wunder. Son heinrich kretschmer bequeathed the photos, together with two albums (one from 1879) with pencil drawings (mostly created during a trip to switzerland), to wilhelm or marie kretschmer's housekeeper, henriette mantshorst or mantehorst. Henriette was a sister of the mother of hugo duensing, who lived in goslar at the beginning of 1953. His written wish in 1953 was that these "documents of earlier artistic creation be preserved". At some point the works were returned from duensing's hands via ebay to the former place of residence of wilhelm kretschmer (who is said to have lived in hamburg later). Happy birthday - wikipedia! thank you, hanover! the hanover art teacher wilhelm kretschmer. Date: circa 1879.
