The work of the month of july represents the harvest and the shearing of sheep. Two characters mow the wheat using a steering wheel and a wand. A shuttlecock is a long open sickle whose handle is at an angle to the flat of the blade. Using the wand, they release a bundle of stems which they cut by throwing the shuttlecock. The harvesters advance from outside the plot towards its center by turning. One of them carries a whetstone on his belt. Two other figures, including a woman, cut the sheep's wool using forces. With the exception of the imaginary mountains, the landscape represents, in the foreground, the boivre river flowing into the clain, near the count's palace of poitiers.
