Self-portrait engraving by the kalmyk (western mongol) painter, engraver and sculptor feodor iwanowitsch kalmyk, also written fedor ivanovich kalmuck. Done in 1805 while he was working with thomas elgin, the 7th earl of elgin, shortly after having brought the 'elgin marbles' from athens to london and before he was appointed to be royal painter in karlsruhe in 1806. Date: 1805.
