Engraving of leiden mayor johan meerman in 1667. It is based on an anonymous painting of him where he is portrayed at age 43 in 1667, after a painting which was hanging in his son gerard meerman's house in rotterdam in 1760. This engraving appeared in a monthly magazine (total number of issues 45) published by isaac tirion with historic sketches of holland in 1760, called 'hedendaagse historie'.
