La Reine Antinéa, L’Atlantide, Manuel Orazi, 1920

This drawing is an original poster for l’atlantide. Queen antinéa stands in the middle of the red marble room. Sarcophagi plated with orichalcum, a precious metal, are displayed all around the room. They contain the bodies of fifty-three men who disappeared in the desert and were never heard of again. Antinéa is wearing one of the extravagant dresses orazi designed for stacia napierkowska, who played the queen. Another one of these dresses is part of the collections of the cinémathèque française. Date: 1920. Medium: gouache on paper.
