Jean-françois raffaëlli** was a french** realist painter, sculptor, and printmaker who exhibited with the impressionists**. He was also active as an actor and writer. Born in paris, france april 20, 1850 and died in paris, france february 11, 1924. Raffaelli trained in the atelier of jean-leon gerome, and made his debut at the salon of 1870. He painted portraits, landscapes and genre scenes, deriving much of his inspiration from the parisian suburbs. Date: before 1924.
