Note: beaumaris, a cargo ship was torpedoed and damaged in the atlantic ocean 2. 5 nautical miles (4. 6 km) off the longships lighthouse by sm u-53 ( imperial german navy). She was beached in whitesand bay but was a total loss. Her crew survived. Date: 1918 (First World War).
