Portrait of the briel? built 1688 30 guns. Taken by french 1695 viewed from the port quarter. The ports are too indistinctly drawn to be counted. It is inscribed on the back ‘d belde sijn tweet e groet’ (the figures are two times too big). This probably refers to the three men in the stern gallery which make the ship look much smaller than she was. This is a black chalk with pen and brown ink drawing by the younger. It is signed on the back in pencil ‘w. V. Vj’. Portrait of the briel? built 1688 30 guns. Taken by french 1695. Date: circa 1688. Dimensions: Sheet: 191 x 304 mm; Mount: 404 mm x 554 mm. Collection: Fine art.
