There must be a problem with the post, or it was lost in an attack. I haven't received any mail from you since i've been here, apart from a letter that was sent to me from blankenburg. I know that you always write to me, so i'll just have to be patient. I'm still doing perfectly and am having a great time. We drive a lot and have a lot to learn. I'm already behind the wheel myself and it's fun whizzing through the beautiful countryside. On wednesday we were in göttingen; i was happy to see this small town again after 3½ years. This is where i started my career as a soldier and got to know the "joys" of life as a soldier! on friday we drove to goslar, where i was exactly two years ago in october 1942. Date: 15 October 1944.
