Stage costume by Marianne Kirzinger (1780s, Bakhrushin museum) 02, 1780s

Unfortunately, almost no biographical data has been preserved about marianne kirzinger (1730-1809). It is only known that she studied painting in munich with the engraver jacob dorner. The works presented in the calendar reveal a mature artist, which she was at the time when count nikolai petrovich sheremetev made her his commission. These paintings will perhaps allow us to return to that time, which now seems to us, despite the “costs of serfdom”, beautiful, warm and humane, when man had not yet lost, as the poet e. A. Baratynsky wrote, “faith in wonderful fiction”. Http://www. Gctm. Ru/museum/editions/kirzinger_calendar/. Date: 1780s.
