Charles antoine landan de bockairy was the son of antoine charles de lorimier (born in 1722, died in 1808) and jeanne michel russel de bedford, known as the countess of tressans. During one of the voyages of the count of tressans, a naval officer, charles antoine, an adulterous child, was recognized by miss landan, an opera dancer who, for a sum of money, gave him his name.
