Nakamura shikan iv as higuchi jirōbei kanemitsu disguising as a boatman, matsuemon in the third scene of the rowing lesson in the battles of genji and heike (hiragana seisuiki, sakaro [ひらかな盛衰記:逆櫓]) “船頭松右衛門実ハ樋口次郎平兼光 中村芝翫力 (sendō matsuemon jitsuha higuchi jirōbei kanemitsu nakamura shikan nakamura shikan)”.
