CHARLEVILLE. — Rue Thiers (2), 9 October 1909

Text written on the postcard: "against the gable of the house currently occupied by the tête-d'or stores, there was once the famous gate built in 1806 and which closed the entire street. In 1862 the materials from its demolition were sold". The grid is visible on the site: http://www. Cndp. Fr/crdp-reims/cddp08/artsculture/charleville1900/vue18_2. Htm. The house of the golden head seems to be the building with a lantern. The following houses gave way to the crédit lyonnais bank (lcl). The grand hôtel de lion d'argent was located a little further away. Similar photo see the site http://www. Christianvancautotems.
