Illustration (fig. 1) to the "orartie van de professor l. Wolsogen over syn droom en de nytlegging van de felue gadaen. . " ("the speech of professor l. Wolsogen [sic] about his dream explaining the salvation [of holland]"), one of four separate allegorical plates dealing with the war between the netherlands and the french allies; a lion (standing for the netherlands) entangled in a net is attacked by a boar (the bishop of munster) and a cock (france), behind to the right, a wolf and a fox in sheep's fleece (johann and cornelis de witt) hang from a tree. 1674 etching.
