L'eté à ostende. This poster was published in 1893 by the city council of ostend, which wanted to create additional publicity on the occasion of the world exhibition in antwerp in 1894. The work was outsourced to the internationally renowned litho printing company camis in paris. The cartoonist francisco tamagno (°1851) shows a lady and her son looking out enraptured at the sea, the beach, the dike and the casino. The artist starts the facade parade with hotel continental, but also provides numerous details of beach life and the dike events. The poster was used for promotion for two years. Date: 1893.
