An old italian shepherd, in a hat, cloak and sheepskin, seated on a stone, one leg raised, eyes closed and holding a stick, next to his foot, a ball of wool, a piece of needlework (?) and an open pouch with fruit (?), seated just below him with his back to the viewer, a young boy blowing on a small flute; in the foreground a piece of carved stone with the letters "o b", in the background architectural remains and hills or mountains; after schnetz lithograph on buff chine collé.
