Miracle frescoes in the pilgrimage church of maria steinbach: johannes schaas wanted to fell a tall fir tree in 1743. As so often happens, the top became wedged with another fir tree. Schaas climbed up to free it. At a height of eight fathoms, the fir tree began to sink. In his distress, he promised to make a pilgrimage to steinbach and was miraculously saved.
