Christian ii's ceremonial armour in the royal museum in dresden. The front armour, for man and horse, is made of steel, gilded all over. The ornamentation is lavishly rich, partly cut into the metal, partly embossed and chased. Nuremberg work, ca. 1606. The other armour is made of grey tempered steel, on which are applied gilded copper ornaments of openwork. Augsburg work, dated 15. 99 with an engraved number, acquired in 1602. Saddle made of green velvet with gold and silver embroidery. Gift from the widowed electress sophie to the elector. Christmas 1608.
