Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-10-24) letter no. 292 (1944-11-02) next letter (1944-11-06) envelope: front back text [we've had the alarm twice today too; they] flew over in droves again. Thank god everything is still ok here; there is no external sign of the war in the town. Hopefully it stays that way! thank you very much for the stamps, but my mamschl, these are the second ones this period! even if there's no gas, you have to eat, i still want to see you again, fresh and healthy! don't save too much for me, i'll get through it! i'll just have to go to a pub then. It's the same for me as always; i'm fine and happy. I was at the cinema and saw “immensee”, a wonderful film, have you seen it yet? last week we also had a company evening, it was very nice and there was plenty to eat and drink. So don't worry about me! stay healthy and take care of yourself! if we have any damage, please write immediately! warm and heartfelt kisses from your hansl. Date: 2 November 1944.
