My beloved mother! now i want to write the promised letter to thank you for yours and to send you my heartfelt sunday greetings. I hope you have already received my flower card? i have been waiting a long time for your mail, but i wanted to know if everything is ok after the attacks. Now i am relieved knowing that everything is. I hope they haven’t been there again! you hear all sorts of things here about the damage in vienna, but you can only believe half of it. Perhaps your mail was lost because of this too. Well, i've received another lovely letter and i'm glad that everything went well and, above all, that you, my mother, are healthy and well! yes, a lot has changed at home because of the total war effort. I can't imagine all the drama, but this is bearable if everything else goes well. At the moment, things aren't looking good, but we still want to hope.
