Studies of battleships, including one of the 'royal sovereign' class [and a study for pae0114] the top group appear to be battleships with a 'royal sovereign'-class ship nearest. The lower right group are a battleship with two smaller vessels. In both cases the intended location may be scapa flow. The group on the lower left appears to be a preliminary sketch from which pae0014 was worked up, of a destroyer and two boats attempting to rescue men from a capsized ship. Wyllie has added a note by the boats which appears to read '12urcutt', but the intended meaning is unclear. Date: 1914. Dimensions: 253 mm x 354 mm. Collection: Fine art.
