Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1936-02-10) letter date (1936-06-17 ) next letter (1936-12-29) june 17, 1936. Dear mrs. Koch! thank you very much for the two cards from hansi! i am still looking for a place for the boy to stay. We have a maid this year, so there is no room for a boy as big as hansi. Last year he slept with hinka [hontla ???]. But they are getting a little one there in august this year, so mrs. Hinka really doesn't need hansi anymore. And no one else will take him. Mrs. Waldinger would like to give hansi food, but she doesn't want him to sleep with because erwin, who is an apprentice baker in her own bakery this year, doesn't go to bed at night. I thought: hansi should write to erwin and say how sorry he is that they can no longer be together and how he was looking forward to the summer holidays because he liked being with erwin so much; like a city child looks forward to the summer all year round when he can go to the country. Hansi should warm up erwin and then mrs. Waldinger will take him. Date: 17 June 1936.
