Fishing boats for cormorants on the nagae river at kawado; fishing boat with pipe smoking man looking at cormorants on a leash, held fast by a second man; at night; on the background more fishing boats. The fishes, attracted by the fire near the boat, are being picked by the cormorants from the water, their pinched throat prevents them from swallowing the fish. Date: between 1838 and 1842.
