Quest at the ball, anonymous engraving after the painting by julie ribault entitled "the quest at the ball" presented at the salon of 1827 (number 1720 of the booklet) with the following description: "mr. De belloy, bishop of marseille in 1760, went to a grand ball given by the governor of the city and asked him for permission to join hands with his daughter to make a collection in favor of a burned family. " the engraving is a resumption of the engraving by auguste delvaux, published in the ladies' almanac for the year 1830 (treuttel & würtz, 1823) see here. Object Type: print. Date: 1842.
