Viii 41. Dear parents! greetings to you from the bottom of my heart. On the 12th i survived the hardest battle of my life, with god's help. I thought about you a lot. It was terrible. Now, thank god, it's over. Thank you very much for the two packages and the letter. I'm fine here again now, i'm healthy! hopefully it will all be over soon. We'll have to give the russians a good beating. Date: 14 August 1941.
