Lion devouring a horse; the lion, sheltered by a rocky outcrop or vegetation, sinks his teeth into the horse's neck, holding on with his paws, a fierce look in his eyes; the front half of the horse visible, its back and flank partly covered by a cloth, its tongue hanging out, a trickle of blood on the ground. 1844.
