saint-lazare prison, rue du faubourg saint-denis (10th arrondissement). Interior of a single-bed cell. Photo taken from the back of the cell towards the corridor. In the foreground on the left is a piece of the bed, on the right a bowl on a table and opposite the cell grille behind which we can see the corridor window where there are large spots of light. Play of light and shadow. (double of photo carph014561/2 but better preserved). Historical commentary:
