A couple in elizabethan dress on horseback with dogs, the lady with a hawk on her wrist, the man talking to a servant who lifts the hoof of a deer and gestures towards a poacher who stands cap in hand to right, guarded by another man with a crossbow, in front of an arched gateway of a manor with a view of a wing with triple casement windows beyond.
