Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1941-02-16) letter no. 2 (1941-02-27) next letter (1941-03-02) envelope: front back text dear dad, i would like to thank you especially for your lines. You're not one of those writing enthusiasts. Just make sure you don't catch a cold again. That when i get home you're safe and sound. You write whether i had enough to eat on the journey. We had more than enough. Now about me. On sunday we went out together for the first time. In uniforms and peaked caps, it was really great. Because you're writing about poland. It's not decided yet where we're going. We're staying here for about another five weeks for training. Where we'll go after that is still undecided. We'll see. The regimental commander was with us today and gave us east markers a special welcome. Otherwise there is nothing new to report. Please write again very soon. Best wishes and lots of kisses from hansl. Date: 27 February 1941.
