Tennō Antoku, 1845 - 46

Young emperor - “ogura nazorae hyakunin issu” (ogura imitation of one hundred poems by one hundred poets) - no. 22, by kuniyoshi utagawa (1797-1861). Woodblock print depicting emperor antoku, who 8 years old, perished along with his heike clan relatives at the battle of dannoura bay. Poem in lower cartouche by fun'ya no yasuhide: "it is by its breath that autumn's leaves of trees and grass are wasted and driven. So they call this mountain wind the wild one, the destroyer. ". Date: 1845 - 46.
