Cacique Junchar, José del Pozo

Faithful copy of some notes taken for the portrait of the chief junchar by josé del pozo in puerto deseado, in 1789, during the malaspina expedition (1789-1794). The pencil notes mentioned above are preserved in the naval museum under the signature ms. 1725 (9). It represents the bust of a patagonian indian, from the front, with fur over the left shoulder, a ribbon in his hair, blonde, with a mustache and light eyes. It entered the museum in 1932, with funds from the hydrographic deposit. Date: 18th century.
