Gozutenno tsunahiki, between 1796 and 1798

Tag-o-war at gozu tenno shrine, namba village. : from "settsu meisho zue", or a series of pictorial guide books to famous places in the 18th century osaka, japan. People play tug-of-war as a religious ritual, which is still held livelily at namba yasaka shrine (ja) today. Date: between 1796 and 1798.
