on the flower platform, a cab driver gets down from his seat and moves his horse forward, holding it by the bridle; passers-by around him. Behind the parapet of the quay, the seine then the quai de l'hôtel-de-ville, the apple market (the mall) where boats are moored to the bank and covered in snow.
