Guardhouse of the Town Hall in 1830, former great hall, Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer, between 1875 and 1882
This ornate interior from the hôtel de ville used to be a "great-room" in which dinners, balls, and other parties were thrown. After a raid by local discontents in 1830, however, the room became a "corps de garde" or guard-room taken over by militia officials. Date: between 1875 and 1882. Dimensions: 10.2 x 8.5 cm.
