Rockingham monument 1851 (according to the popular science magazine (p. 160) this monument was made as a demonstration piece. It is 10 feet high. The bust inside the columns is mr christopher weber fenton, who together with mr alanson potter lyman, managed a rockingham and yellow-ware factory in bennington, vt. Called united states pottery. The bust and surmounting figure are made of parian ware, the base is made of a variety of clays mixed together and gives the appearance of unpolished marble. The whole thing was modelled by daniel greatbach. It was exhibited in the new york crystal palace in 1853 with other products from the factory. It was later placed on the porch of mr fenton's former residence in bennington. Richard avery (talk) 14:26, 24 june 2014 (utc)). Date: between 1891 and 1892.
