Sixten David Sparre Nordgren, 1 January 1840

Portrait of major general sixten david sparre (1787-1843) in uniform, frack w/1833, for the svea lifeguard with the crest for the order of the sword, its knight's insignia and the crest of the order of stanislaus on the chest, over the right shoulder wearing the ribbon of the sword. Sparre holds a bicorne and in the background a military camp can be seen. Made by carl wilhelm nordgren around 1840. Date: 1 January 1840.
