The three magi approach the manger where are found joseph and the virgin holding christ on her knees. In front of them is kneeling one of the kings, depicted with the features of charles vii, on a fleurdelysé carpet, a hat at his feet and surrounded by armed guards. In the background is represented a battle close to a castle, overlooked by a star. This miniature illustrated the beginning of the excerpt from the gospel according to st.
