Sami drum from kemi lappmark, finland. Winkelrahmentrommel / flanged frame drum; 66 × 42 cm. Described and depicted by no:johannes schefferus in his book lapponia (1671); later described as no 44 in ernst manker's die lappische zaubertrommel (1938 and 1950). Owned by baron henric flemming in 1671, colonel of finnish cavalry; unknown further provenience until owned by collector gustav klemm, dresden in 1844 (together with this one). Klemm died in 1867; since 1870 at museum für völkerkunde, leipzig. Date: before 1938.
