View of the Elbe with the country house Abbéma, Friedrich Rosenberg, 1823
The country house abbéma was built in 1795 after the architect c. F. Hansen's design to the batavian ambassador abbéma on the banks of the elbe. The country house was ready for habitation during the years 1796–1797. The house was sold in 1798 to the french emigrant c. L. C. Rainville. The country house was converted into a restaurant and the garden was laid out in terraces down to the river. The house was demolished in 1867 and a maritime school was built on the premises and the garden was laid out as a puplic park. [1]
