[braunschweig] august 28, 1942. Soldier h. Koch, 2nd company ieb 17. Braunschweig my dear mum! many warm greetings to start with. Thank you very much for the package, it arrived today. I don’t have it yet though, it’s still in the post room, i’ll pick it up tomorrow. I’ve now managed to get hold of some photos from russia. I’ve also given my home address and some more will be sent to you. Please keep the photos safe for me. I can still be seen in one of them, right at the back by the fence. To get to this house we marched 1002 kilometers, and by november it had become 2700 km. Date: 28 August 1942.
